The BBC Weather Test, backed by Radio 4's Today Programme, is an exciting new project designed to assess the reliability of weather forecasters. It is a unique and ambitious collaboration between BBC News, the Royal Meteorological Society, the Royal Statistical Society, the Royal Astronomical Society and independent academics and weather forecasters.

The first stage of the Weather Test was to prepare a draft protocol to lay down the rules under which the forecasters' results will be tested. theWeather Club has agreed to publish this draft protocol for public consultation and the protocol was discussed at a public meeting at the Royal Institution in London on Monday 28th March 7-8pm. If you would like to read the draft protocol please go to theWeather Club website . If you have any comments please feel free to email rachael.fordham@theweatherclub.org.uk and/or comment here.
